Who was considered for Death to Smoochy?

On one of Henry Rollins' live spoken word DVDs, he recounts an amusing story of auditioning for the role of Spinner Dunn, an ex-boxer. During the audition, Rollins apparently threw things around the room and scared Danny DeVito. According to Rollins, they loved him and asked him back for a 2nd audition, but he was edged out by another actor for the role.
