Dorothy wanted to play Cherie in a movie version of the successfull stage play "the Wrong Kind of Girl" which later was made with Marilyn Monroe as BUS STOP.
The producers of "Bus Stop" wanted Fess Parker for the role of the young cowboy; Walt Disney, who owned Parker's contract, declined to loan the actor out.
Kim had originated the role of chanteuse Cherie on Broadway in 1954, but was overlooked for the film. Ironically Stanley would play a character based on Monroe in the 1958 film the Goddess.
