Nancy was offered the role of the pop singer Sugar Kane but turned it down because the plot spoofed her brother Frank Jr.'s kidnapping in 1963 as a hoax.

After the successful "The Wild Angels," producer/director Roger Corman wanted to reteam Peter Fonda and Nancy Sinatra in this film, but Nancy didn't want to make another film about the L.A. drug culture.
